Vikings World Wide: Guided tour in Swedish

31 August, 2019 @ 10:00 - 1 September, 2019 @ 18:00

Vikings World Wide

From Arabic silvercoins in Stockholm to Viking graffiti in Istanbul

Join the Vikings world wide this summer. Where did they travel and why? What traces of the Vikings’ rampaging can still be seen around the world today? And what did they bring back home to the north?

Guided tour in Swedish at 15:30.

Around thousand years ago some northerners went on Viking. Which means that they travelled by sea to plunder and ravage. But, many northerners were also engaged in peaceful trade and settlements of new areas. Their travels took them all the way to Istanbul in east and North America in west. Many of these places still have remains from the progressions of the Vikings.

This summer, The Viking Museum focuses on the travels and cultural exchanges of the Vikings. Children can hunt runes and the youngest can explore the museum together with the tiny squirrel, suitably named Tiny.

The guided tour is ca 15 minutes long, is included in the admission and no booking is needed.
